 Euro
Euro usually refers to a deposit outside the home country but in the home country currency. This terminology is confusing given the new European currency unit, also called the Euro, was introduced on January 1, 1999.
The European Single Currency.
The successor to the European Currency Unit (ECU) as the European currency. The euro was introduced in 11 member states on 1st January 1999. They were Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
