        Eurobond

An interest-bearing security issued across national borders, often in a currency other than that of the issuer’s home country.

A bond that is (1) underwritten by an international syndicate, (2) issued simultaneously to investors in a number of countries, and (3) issued outside the jurisdiction of any single country.

A bond that is denominated in a currency other than that of the country in which it is issued.

A bond, issued and underwritten by international syndicates of banks and issuing houses and sold to investors (such as multinational corporations) outside the country in whose currency it is denominated. A eurobond is normally payable to the bearer and is free of tax.
